About Our Club
Welcome to GameWorld, a single club on DeviantArt that focuses strongly on gaming. We focus on discussing all areas of video games and viewing the creative works of people's interpertations and originality of gaming. Our primary focus is on video games and electronic gaming, but card games, board games, and other gaming formats except sports are welcome. We are also greatly interested in and encourage people to send in their original game designs and art as well.
The main part of the club takes place in our chat room, where you'll get to interact with other gamers and show off your artwork and literature. There, you'll be able to get to discuss old and new games, consoles, and original game concepts. The club account is where you'll find the latest club news, wanted ad's, active game projects, a large member gallery, and more.
If you like playing games or enjoy making game art and wanna chat with fellow gamers, this is the club for you. Don't worry if you're not an artist or you're brand new to gaming. Every form of gamer is welcome, male and female. As long as you're friendly and want to make friends, you found the right place. So, come join us, what are you waiting for? The game has already started!
A Word from the Creator
I created GameWorld on July 24, 2006 as a club that met everything I wanted in a game club. I have been interested in computers and games since I was three. I started gaming on an old Atari 800XL computer and finally got the famous NES by 1989. Ever since my first console, I been into video games and had all the major consoles since that point. Sadly, I don't own all of the old ones I used to have anymore, but those games are coming back on 21st century machines. You cannot escape gaming history. Anyhow, I created GameWorld as a chat-based club on DeviantArt to bring together the gamers of DA and elsewhere to discuss and enjoy games together. DeviantArt is one of the best places for gamers simply because of the massive amount art that includes game fanart as well as a spot for original game projects. What a better place for creativity! So, I hope that GameWorld turns out to be a great spot for gamers to interact and exhange ideas and experiences. The discussion of games should be an enjoyable experience as well, and not plagued by flame wars and debates. I hope that GameWorld can be free of that and we'll try our best to keep it that way. However, its up to this great community to ensure that GameWorld remains a peaceful and friendly home to all gamers.
Sincerely,
~

A special thanks to *
Otaku1811 for creating the great club's icon. Otaku and I together have done so much work creating UnseenArtists, that my experience there allows GameWorld to be another great and well developed club. Thank you sweetheart!

I've always been a gamer for as long as I can remember, I remember as far back to when I was about 4 years old playing Megaman and Zelda on the Nintendo, I was a huge Megaman fan growing up, but when I eventually got a Genesis for Christmas, it became Sonic the Hedgehog, Comix Zone, Gunstar Heroes, and Splatterhouse 3. Having grown up mainly on platformers, most of the games I play today are typically RPG games like Dragon Quest 8, but I play a wide variety of all kinds of games, the only genre I won't play are sports games, I'd feel like an idiot playing something I could easily do outside with a ball.
I am more of a console gamer than a PC gamer, this is because I grew up with a super crappy computer the couldn't run games like Half-Life. I have about 8 consoles and over 50 games total, most are for the Playstation 2 however. But when I can afford it, I do plan to collect old consoles and games. I am a bit of a purist that I would prefer to play games on the original systems that they were released for than as a re-release on the Gameboy Advance or in a collection for the Gamecube or something.
I have a fairly extensive knowledge on videogames past and present, however much of what I know is still limited to a degree. I'm quite intrigued by Nintendo, but mainly play games for the Playstation 2, I'm not a big fan of the Xbox. In truth, the sole reason I bought an Xbox was because Perfect Dark Zero was suppose to be released on it, after I learned that it wouldn't, and all the lackluster games for it (I only ever found interest and enjoyment in the games Dead or Alive 3 and Sudeki), I always have the feeling that I wasted a lot of time and money to get it.
